GIVE vs. GET

Why did I become a Beachbody Coach? So I could try to share a gift that I had been given, the gift of improved health. While this may not be a popular philosophy, it is my philosophy. There are MANY opportunities that come along with Coaching and everyone is free to choose which opportunity they want to pursue, which opportunity they want to identify as their “WHY” for becoming a Coach. It was very easy for me to identify my WHY. The difference I felt physically, mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually after my health started to improve was so AMAZING to me, I knew I wanted to do what I could to pass it along to everyone!

Recently, I have posted a few things on my Facebook account about what is important to me when it comes to Coaching. Getting feedback from others who want me to know that I have helped inspire, motivate, or support them in some way means SO MUCH MORE than any commission or bonus payout EVER could! Hearing things like: “Thank you for taking an interest in me!”, “Thanks for being there.”, “You have really helped and supported me, and I thank you.”, “Thank you Brett for your kind words. I appreciate it a lot.” doesn’t put one dime into my pocket, but it gives me a feeling inside that I wouldn't sell for any price!

I want to be sure to focus on what I can GIVE to others and not what I can GET out of them…

This is just my take on things, but I may be totally wrong. It wouldn’t be the first time and it certainly won’t be the last. If I’m wrong, then I guess I’ll continue to be wrong, because, in this case, it is SO REWARDING!

"An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

DON'T GET ME STARTED...

Don’t get me started on what’s wrong with my job
Don’t get me started on what’s wrong with my boss
Don’t get me started on what’s wrong with my wife
Don’t get me started on what’s wrong with my kids
Don’t get me started on what’s wrong with my friends
Don’t get me started on what’s wrong with my neighbors
Don’t get me started on what’s wrong with my government
Don’t get me started on what’s wrong with my country

I DON’T HAVE TIME TO TALK ABOUT ANY OF THESE, BECAUSE I NEED TO BE CONCERNED ON WHAT’S WRONG WITH ME!!! IF I CAN TAKE CARE OF THAT, I WON’T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THE OTHER THINGS…

NO EXCUSES! IT'S TIME TO STEP UP AND BE ACCOUNTABLE!

BRING IT!

For all of us P90Xers, the phrase "Bring It" is very familiar to us. When we push play, we are encouraged to BRING IT from start to finish. Those words cause us to push harder with each exercise and each rep!

This attitude shouldn't stop when we finish a workout! We should keep this spirit always within us and BRING IT in all that we do, ALL DAY, EVERY DAY! We should BRING IT with our family obligations, our job, our interactions with others, with every opportunities that we encounter. We should strive to do our very best, no matter the situation!

The only way we can move mountains and make a real difference is to BRING IT, BRING IT, BRING IT!!!

"Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do." - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS: PART 2...

Now that I am 3 days into 2010, I want to make a new plan for my resolutions...

If I haven't been successful with my resolutions, should I wait until 1/1/2011 to try again? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

If I forgot to add some items to my list, should I wait until 1/1/2011 to commit to those? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

If I've thought of some new resolutions, should I add them to the 1/1/2011 list? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

I need to set aside time at the end of each day and evaluate my successes and failures from the day. Whatever I did well, whatever made a positive impact, I need to make sure to continue those things the next day. Whatever went wrong and wherever I failed, I need to identify the causes, make plans to correct those mistakes, and do what is required to correct them.

Daily, continual growth is the only way I can hope to improve my life and the lives of those around me. I can't wait for someone else to improve my situation. I need to take the reins and be ACTIVE in life!

TIME TO GET BUSY!!!
